Our Commitment
Web Nexus is designed with privacy as a core principle. We believe your data belongs to you, and we built our extension to ensure that remains true.
Data Storage
All your data is stored locally on your device. Conversation history is saved in IndexedDB, settings in Chrome Storage, and API keys in encrypted local storage. We do not operate any servers that store your personal data.
API Key Security
Your API keys are encrypted using industry-standard encryption before being stored locally. They are never transmitted to our servers and are only used for direct API calls to your chosen AI provider.
What We Access
Web Nexus only accesses page content when you explicitly request it (e.g., "summarize this page"). We never automatically collect or transmit your browsing data. All AI communications go directly from your browser to the AI provider.
Data Deletion
You can delete all your data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome. This will immediately delete all locally stored data including conversation history, settings, and API keys.
Open Source
Web Nexus is open source. You can review our code on GitHub to verify our privacy practices, audit our data handling, or build the extension from source yourself.
For any privacy-related questions, please contact us through GitHub Issues.
